Why Choose Buckwheat Flour?
Buckwheat is often used as an alternative to wheat, but it is not actually a cereal; instead, it is classified as a pseudocereal. While it is a grain, it is utilized like a cereal for flour. I appreciate its lightly nutty flavor, but my main interest in buckwheat flour stems from its high fiber content.
Additionally, I’ve discovered that it is rich in proteins, minerals, and antioxidants. Buckwheat flour can serve as a substitute for wheat flour, especially for those following a gluten-free diet. Compared to wheat flour, it also has a lower glycemic index (GI). Research indicates that buckwheat can help slow the release of energy into your body, reduce blood sugar spikes, and provide you with longer-lasting energy.
